Purpose
Our goal is for High School students who normally participate in horse shows, to have a chance to be brought together within their High School communities and work as a team. Many youth team challenges are hosted every year all over Ontario with great success, much like all of these shows we too are promoting good horsemanship, teamwork, and good sportsmanship.

We hope to recognize equine athletes at an inter colligate level, something that simply isn't as prevalent in Ontario as it is in some of Canada's western provinces or as it is in the United States

Eligibility
Participating High Schools do not need to have an Equestrian Team; this show is open to all High Schools in South Western Ontario and their students.

We invite students to participate in this event, in hopes that it will strength South Western Ontario’s High School communities involvement in Equestrian events.

Students participating will be representing their High School as a team, and competing in common events found at a horse shows against other High Schools.

History
In May of 2006 a group of senior students from Urusline College Chatham organized a horse show for high school students in the Chatham Kent school district.

In 2007 the Second Annual Show was again hosted with great success. In 2008 the Third Annual High School Equestrian Team Challenge was opened up to all High Schools in South Western Ontario. Over 60 students and 13 High School teams participated.

This year is no different with the outstanding help and support of the Dresden Saddle Club, we the High School Equestrian Team Challenge Committee will be hosting the 4th Annual High School Equestrian Team Challenge of South Western Ontario.
